The evening was as normal as it could be given the circumstances...calms and storms had become a certain constant in their worlds and no one really assumed that one would lead to another. So it came to Nero's surprise that someone used her buzzer, knowing everyone she want to see would have the codes already. Still the buzzer rang out and she moved to answer it.

"Who the hell could that be?"
Nero looked back at Remmi on the couch, the curtains were pulled shut and the TV was on low. Nero was already on her feet grabbing the last bit if their takeout. Bishop had a lot of work at the church while Sin was in LA.
Belle described it as unorganized chaos... but the girls were ok with that... gave them time with the dogs and the remaining puppy.
Time they needed to locate Brooklyn, time for Nero to reflex.. and to decide if she was walking out of their a murderer or not.
"I don't know, we already have dinner." She pressed the button leaning in to the mic. "You have the wrong apartment."

"You bitch! I know she's up there!"
Barbara screeched nervously up to the intercom, saying more bravado than was needed.

Nero looked back at Remmi who was now up and close behind her. "She's up there?"
"If she is you, I'm killing Brooklyn." She turned back to the intercom, her stomach in knots as she hit the button again. "Still, the wrong apartment. I live by myself, try a few floors down, pretty sure some lesbians live there. May be more up your alley."

"My little Anni! I saw her with you, please just let me talk to her..."
The bravado slipped as her tone softened.

"Anni?.. as in Belle? Bishop's Belle?"
"I thought her mom was dead.." She pressed the open button, allowing her access to the building. "I'll be down in a moment, hope you're a dog person."

Barbara backed away from the intercom and waited, her hands trembling slightly as she waited. The first thing she heard was the scratches of dog claws on the floor, as Nero's face became clear.
She sank as realized Belle was not with her. Backing away from Snow as the gigantic dog stared at her, her eyes met Nero's.
"She's...not with you?"

"I told you I live alone, Belle isn't here." Nero stopped a few feet from the strange woman as Snow stood beside her. "I was under the impression her mother was... deceased. So excuse my precaution." She motioned towards Snow who kept his eyes locked on the stranger.
'I don't like this, you should have called him.'

"It was better and safer for everyone. A bit cliché but...yes...I was 'dead'. Then I saw Belle wasn't following her father around and I couldn't hide any longer."

'Nero..'
Nero walked up to the woman as Snow moved with her, tilting up to meet her eyes directly.
'Artemis.'
Shaking her head she chuckled at the woman while slightly shaking her head. "You stupid bitch... 'safer and better for everyone'..." Her memory kicked into gear as she was about to hit the stranger.
The flicker happened, quicker than anyone had ever seen as Remmi gained control and took a step back.
"Perhaps it's still best that you remain "dead". Belle is fine, better than how YOU left her, with a family that actually cares for her. Not a father who belittles her."

Barbara didn't notice the flicker, she just assumed she was containing anger.
"Have you ever lost a child?"

Another sensitive topic... Remmi didn't flinch at the topic though, as she stared back with nearly dead eyes. "Three of them, now, you will get no sympathy from me. You left your daughter for whatever reason you deemed necessary but it's still the fact, YOU left her. If you love her, you'll leave her be and let her enjoy her life."

"Imagine that. Someone who went through hell and earned a sense of entitlement from it. I wasn't trying to get sympathy, I was only trying to show you how I feel."
Barbara sighs.
"Whatever happened to your parents I'm sorry, but I obviously went about this the wrong way."

"I hold no entitlement, I met your daughter and protected her, she has become a close friend. As for my parents, you know nothing of them and I do not need any apologizes for their actions in the past."

"Because you as a person have become stronger. I'm not asking to ruin her life...I just want to hold her again. I have seen some of the things she's been through. I know she has become stronger too."
