I pulled into the shitty motel, I wanted to say I was surprised.... but I wasn't. Brooklyn had nice things but not because she demanded them.
So staying in a dump like this wouldn't bother her and it was last place anyone would look... well almost anyone.
V did good work, he was worth the money and the bonus I plan tacking on. But now it was over, Jack was dead. Katrina's words were true, like they always were.
Brooklyn's past... Jack was nearly all of that. With Katrina's words he was encouraged to seek out V in the first place.
Now it was simple, get a room, avoid theirs... Brooklyn would be pissed if she saw me.
So a simple message. "Room 10, 5 minutes."
Now sit abs wait in disgust at the room conditions. This was going to be a quick visit.

She was asleep, she was safe and I';d know I worked my way over t the room after the message, and stuck to just the right , opening the door to speak, not presenting a target.

He was leaning against the wall, not moving. He didn't plan to spook V or rush him as the door opened slowly.
"Is she alright?"

He inched in , closing the door behind him and watching LaVey like a hawk, a curious, hungry hawk.

"Brooklyn likes anyone who shows her enough destruction." I sounded defensive, was that the father instinct? Either way, it wouldn't matter.
"Thank you however for taking care of her. I'm afraid Jack would have been successful if I tried to keep her safe myself. I do believe we have final payments to discuss as well as expenses."

Seems teh Devil had found the wording to his liking, and that was probably quite scary

"Very well LaVey, But your church still stands your son still runs and West still lives...Brooklyn may well get rid of ,e psyhically..But I'll always be there.."
He smiles gently.
"And I'll always be with you La Vey, I'll tale my chances.. and even cut your agreed payment by 10%"

I stood straighter, moving closer while shaking my head. Why did it sound like he was using my daughter? "And what does she have yet to do V? That of course has her best interest."
Every have that 'fuck' moment where everything becomes a bit clearer? I think I'm having one of those, with the subject standing right in front of me.
