"Not a problem, Artemis, you help me more than you know. Lately we have been lost in our feelings, and this represents my utmost desire to return to what we were."

I knew he was referring to Belle's mother. "Belle's mother rubbed a nerve I think is still exposed... and unfortunately we just keep butting heads in the worse way..."

Bishop moves to look Nero in the eyes, deeply.
"Where do you want to do it at?"

"Anywhere but a church?" I smiled sheepishly at him, wrapping an arm around him.
"Remmi likes this little diner near here. They make some killer sandwiches, we could go there?"

"Sandwiches were all you need say."
Bishop and Nero walk hand in hand out of the church, closing the door behind them as they walked towards the car. Driving a short distance, they arrive at the diner and exit the car.
"I've seen this place but I have never thought to eat here."

"Well you know me and Remmi, we know all the good places." We took a seat in the back, away from the few customers that where here this early in the morning.
The waitress took our drink order and walked away as I looked across the table from me. He smiled at me and I started the hardest thing I've done in awhile.
"My mother's name was Marie and my father went by two names. I knew him better by Tylor. He abandoned Marie and Me when I was 6... She was a mess, to say the least, and turned to alcohol to numb the pain."
I stopped as the drinks showed up.
"Know what you two want?"
"I'll take the omelet, egg whites only. With bacon and cheese."
"And for you?"

Bishop looked up at the waitress.
"I'll just take whatever the special is today.
He said, trying to not sound as uninterested in food as he was. He was hungry, but Nero wouldn't continue her story with her standing there.
"I can see the resemblance to Belle's family, and also why you reacted the way you did."

"Yeah... Tylor gave me the same spill Belle's mother did. 'Leaving for our safety...' as if a child is safe with an unstable parent..." I leaned back in the booth as my leg started to bounce. My eyes drifted down to the place setting on the table.
"Tylor was my wrestling manager... For years before I found out he was my father... He thought he could just be a part of my life and for Belle it would have been worse. She thought her mother was dead.
There is no love in abandoning your child, no protection... It's just selfish."

Bishop put his hands palms up on the table, underneath where Nero was looking, as though to offer them to be held.
"That made you the Artemis you are today, and...it actually makes me think what my parents think of everything Michael and I have done.

"Parents are a horrible thing." I sounded like I was joking, but it hard to tell exactly given our topic of choice. I put my hands in his and looked up to meet his eyes.
"You didn't turn out too bad." I smiled at him, at least as much as I could.

"A matter of perspective I suppose."
He kept his words simple, and encouraging. He was here to learn, and to support. That was his love, resounding and true. His heart welled at the sight of her glistening eyes, looking at him as though they were exposed. This was a side of Nero that not many saw, and just for a moment, it was the only side he remembered.
The waitress arrived as they were staring at each other...
