Bishop awoke from a much needed respite from the world, his eyes fluttering open with the feeling of warmth slithering upon his chest. He should have been more aware of the bed pushing in around him as the body laid down next to him, but he was not. He smiled as he spoke.
"What a way to wake up."
He spoke to Nero, who had entered the church shortly before surprising him.

"You're dreaming." But the smile she had on her face seemed real, until you took the environment into consideration.

"I must be, for you to be here."
His smile matched hers, as he sat up the covers falling slightly around his waist as he turns his body towards her.
"I was actually going to ask to visit you today, I needed to ask if you and Belle had spoken about her mother."

"Don't lie, you've been too busy." She idly traced one of the many scars on his chest, picking the more crude of the many. "We did, I think she's in a better place. We even enrolled into a gym for her to blow off some steam. It should be good for her."

"You got Belle to join a gym?"
Bishop sighed slightly.
"Perhaps I didn't know her as well as I thought, she always seemed far too antisocial, especially given the fact she is fairly new to the area. You must be warming up to her more than I am."
Bishop laughs and brushes Nero's hair from her face.

She glances up at him without actually moving her head before rolling her eyes. "She joined because of you, because of your profession. And because she wants to be closer to you. I told her once before she needed to know how to defend herself in Static."

Bishop looks down at the sheets then back up to Nero's eyes.
"I suppose Michael did hamper her from accompanying me to the ring, she will have to do that soon. So are you going to be her fighting trainer?"

"Of course, I wouldn't trust anyone else to do it. And I hired a psychical trainer for her workouts. Someone who can make sure she's helping herself not hurting herself when I may not be there."

"It's a few blocks from my apartment." Which wasn't very close to the church but she planned that. "This is something she needs to do herself, especially after her poor excuse for a mother."
She couldn't say something like that to Belle, but she could express her thoughts to Bishop... mostly. She hadn't really seen him since he picked her up at the police station. They attempted lunch once and dinner a couple of times but it never worked out. Either something came up at the church or Nero canceled.

"How long were you actually talking before she committed suicide?"
Bishop realized that he had only seen the basic report, and not gotten the story from Nero herself.
"I apologize for my actions, by the way, I didn't mean to make it sound as though I accused you of broad day light murder."

"Well getting asked what I did instead of are you ok can rub someone the wrong way." She sat up in his bed, keeping eye contact while creating distance.
"We talked for about 20 minutes before she shot herself."

Bishop was used to Nero, he knew her nuances. The distance was like the silent treatment that normal couples go through, but Nero was never one to not state her opinion. Not with two voices saying them within her.
"I never meant that to be the message, Artemis, I was there because I was worried, and you did have a face covered in blood. Whether or not I care if your ok is always on the forefront of my mind."

"You were there because no one else would be and you got brownie points with my dog. He's not a huge fan of leashes, I've never had him in one until that day."

The words could have been used a million times and they would still sound new.
